About Us

The Oakleaf Group was established in 2004 to provide high quality specialist rehabilitation programmes to male adults with an acquired brain injury and associated complex physical and cognitive needs.

The Oakleaf Group are registered with CQC (3 star rating) as a specialist brain injury unit, however what sets the service aside from other providers in their ability to provide placements to males with a wide range of needs and complex behaviours.

Who meets admission criteria?

  • those who require intensive brain injury assessment
  • those who require individualised brain injury rehabilitation programmes focusing on increased independence and community re-integration
  • those who require rehabiliatation and nursing care due to associated complex physical illness
  • those who display challenging behaviours which may exclude them from other placements
  • those who require a slower paced, long term period of brain injury rehabilitation
  • those who may have already completed a period of rehabilitation and who now require further support in living more independently

Individual rehabilitation programmes are specifically designed to increase ones independence, to re-learn and acquire new skills so that each resident is able to embark on their rehabilitation pathway through a variety of activities centred around community re-integration.  Inclusion into community settings is Oakleaf's ultimate goal for their residents who may display socially inappropriate, challenging behaviours as outcomes show a significantly increased willingness to engage together with a reduction in unsociable behaviours if residents are active and are treated as a valuable member of the wider community.

The Oakleaf Group are a young yet versatile organisation who are passionate about providing rehabilitation for those with an acquired brain injury by applying traditional methods and practical 'real life' therapeutic activities.  Every resident is unique and this is reflected in their individualised package of care.

Residents at Oakleaf are offered a range of exciting activities to encourage engagement and ownership of their rehabilitation pathway, which ultimately is aimed at increasing ones independence in every aspect of daily life.
