Where did it all begin?
The Oakleaf Group was established in 2004 to provide high quality rehabilitation packages to adult males with an acquired brain injury and/or associated physical disabilities. Ian Mosley, founder member of Oakleaf was in 2004 already working as an experienced nurse (RNLD) and had worked with people with acquired brain injury for many years. His passion in developing services for this client group was shared with a very successful local businessman John Martin who, with no knowledge or experience of working within the health sector, set about their plans in creating a bespoke service in Hartwell, Northamptonshire.
The Oakleaf Group opened in 2005 with a 9 bed facility which set out to provide community based rehabilitation to adult males with an acquired brain injury. Re-integration into the wider community was then and remains today the ethos around Oakleaf and its endeavours to provide every opportunity for clients to learn to live as independently as possible.
Six years on, The Oakleaf Group provide 61 placements in Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. The model of rehabilitation has proved so successful that the business expanded to provide dedicated services to those who required active rehabilition, long term, slow stream rehabilitation and community placements.
