The Oakleaf Group in total offer 41 placements for adult males who have an acquired brain injury. The homes are restricted to male only residents to allow for shortfalls in social skills and personal boundary setting. Residents will be encouraged to develop relationships at all levels, both within and away from the units as appropriate.
Referrals will be expected from professionals seeking rehabilitation placements (including long term and community placements) for those who have suffered an acquired brain injury and may have needs surrounding behavioural, functional and cognitive rehabilitation. Residents will be expected to have a majority of behavioural control, yet still retain elements that would prohibit them from being sought an alternative placement.
The experience and qualifications of the care team at Oakleaf will enhance the ability of our service to deliver high quality care for those with secondary/associated conditions, both pre and post injury.
Residents will be offered a placement with emphasis being placed on maintaining current functioning, choice, quality of life and social re-integration. The Oakleaf Group is operated in the hope that residents consider it as their home and will be encouraged to make decisions about its development.
