former England rugby star to open acquired brain injury unit
former England and Northampton Saints star Jon Sleightholme will lend his support on Monday 27th June 2011 in opening a new local facility owned by The Oakleaf Group, which will provide rehabilitation to adult males with acquired brain injury.
Jon will be accompanied by Simon Hales, who featured in Channel 4’s Cutting Edge documentary “My New Brain”. Simon, a former resident of The Oakleaf Group will accompany Jon Sleightholme in opening “Cunningham House” which is named in memory of another much loved former resident of Oakleaf, Ernie who sadly died in 2009.
The Oakleaf Group established in 2005 have demonstrated their commitment to improving the lives of those affected by brain injury and are delighted to announce the opening of their new facility in Hartwell, Northampton. Oakleaf’s CEO Ian Mosley states “….it’s a privilege to be able to make a difference to the lives of those devastated by brain injury and we are equally delighted that Simon will be returning to Oakleaf to help us with our Grand Opening”. Kathy Swannell, Clinical Director at Oakleaf states “Simon has achieved so much and it is fantastic to report that he is now re-building his life at home with this family”.
